What Happens When You Report
Make a Hazing Report
Hazing violates university policy, state law and recognized student organization policies. You can make a confidential report through the Office of Student Accountability & Support or report anonymously by calling the UM system Compliance hotline 844-469-6383.
After Making a Report
Hazing report is submitted, reviewed and assessed to determine next steps. Based on the assessment, one of the following actions will be taken:
No Further Action
The reporting party will be notified that no further action will take place and the organization related to the report will be notified of claim.
Investigative Process Begins
If applicable: Temporary action may be enacted at any time in accordance with CRR 200.020.
More About the Investigative Process
- Initial communications and the investigative plan will be established.
- Pre-investigation meeting will take place.
- The investigation is conducted.
- The investigation will conclude and one of the following outcomes will occur:
- No further action. The reporting party will be notified that no further action will take place and the organization related to the report will be notified of claim.
- Investigation findings are shared, follow up communication will be sent to the organization and will transition to the Student Conduct Process.
